Do you know the signs of the late effects of polio?

Help recognising and managing the late effects of polio and post-polio syndrome in your practice.

WHY IT MATTERS

An ageing polio population

Decades after Australia's polio epidemics, the aftermath is increasingly visible. An estimated 400,000 people may have the late effects of polio or post-polio syndrome, including younger migrants to Australia.

The condition overlaps with other chronic diseases but has important differences. If it isn't recognised, the wrong care can make symptoms rapidly worse.
